Teaching Opportunities: Part-time Lecturers

Penn welcomes applications from PhDs across the disciplines who have an interest in teaching writing seminars. Applicants interested in teaching a writing seminar for evening students enrolled in the College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning February 15 and continuing until all positions are filled.

Please submit the following:

  1. A letter of interest broadly outlining your qualifications and interest in teaching and participating in the Critical Writing Program at Penn
  2. Your current CV
  3. A course description (150 words or fewer) modeled after our seminar descriptions that present your proposed seminar topic, along with two scholarly monographs on the topic (ideally fewer than 250 pages) that you might use to organize your course.
  4. If you have not taught at Penn before, but have taught elsewhere, evidence of your accomplishments as a teacher (syllabi, teaching evaluations, teaching awards, references)
  5. Three references, including contact information and letters of recommendation

All applications materials should be completed online through the part-time lecturer application link.
