After Psalm 23 / Charles Bernstein

You are my shepherd.
I shall not want.
You lead me from dark, turbulent waters
To sun-drenched meadows.
You bring my life back to me
Leading me on paths of splendor.
Though I walk in the shadows of death
Sick with fears, grief, and uncertainties
I know you are with me.
Your memory consoles.
You set out a feast before me
Softening, with care, life’s blows
So that now my cup overflows.
Let kindness and truthfulness take hold of me
All the days of my life.
I shall dwell in your house
Forever.
