Writing Tutor Triston Francis Wins National Writing Contest

Writing Tutor Triston Francis (WH '12) was one of the ten finalists of this year's National Essay Competition sponsored by the Executive Leadership Council. His essay, "Creating a Corporate Family: The Road to Developing Our Talent Pool of the Future," won the 2010 Award for Excellence in Business Commentary. This award is given to ten African-American undergraduates from across the nation. Winners receive cash, an internship at a Fortune 500 corporation, and participation in an all-expenses-paid, week-long Hnors Symposium in New York City. Triston, who is not only a tutor but a frequent user of the Writing Center services, kindly credited the resources of the Critical Writing program provided him at Penn which helped him develop as a writer. We would add that the lion's share goes to Triston, whose dedication to advancing his writing skills is unparalleled. Congratulations, Triston!
