From "Democracy" to Fox News, and Back

Carly Roman spoke to students in the "Democracy in America" Writing Seminar recently to share her insights on the November midterm elections. Roman, who had been a student in the “Democracy in America” Writing Seminar last spring, spent the summer as an intern for Judge Jeanne Pirro at Fox News. At Fox, she utilized her critical writing skills to produce speeches and reports on various topics, including the upcoming November 2014 midterm elections. Speaking to students in the "Democracy" seminar, Roman shared her insights on several Senate races across the country, made projections, and fielded questions from students. Following her presentation, several students shared their experiences of working on political campaigns in their home states. Roman's take on the midterm election can be found in her recent article in The Spectrum, titled "The Six Year Itch."
