Romer LPS '16 publishes in Foreign Affairs

Before coming to Penn, Political Science major George Romer (LPS ’16) served as a reactor operator on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson. Since taking his first Critical Writing seminar with Elizabeth Scheyder in 2013, he has focused his attention on the more analytical side of geopolitics, choosing a concentration in International Relations. Now he has landed on the pages of Foreign Affairs, co-authoring (with Penn professor Mitchell A. Orenstein) an article questioning Russia’s motive for becoming more involved in the war in Syria.
