Hub Thanksgiving '06
Who will take my picture?
Throughout the night, a few hubbers ran amock with digital cameras, clicking away at the best and silliest moments possible. Special thanks to fellow staffer Arielle Brousse for providing these pictures. Please click here to re-live the many faces of the hub, all stuffed with turkey and pie.
(not just) Any Given Monday
On the evening of November 20th, 2006, the members of the Writers House Hub gathered for an evening of turkey and stuffing, yams and potatoes, shepherd's pie and corn pudding, turkey cookies and pumpkin pie.
Summary of Occurrences, Various
This year's Hub Thanksgiving was larger than any in recent memory, and both the dining room and the living room were filled by long tables, all abuzz with excited conversation. As per Hub tradition, Al Filreis led the group in a series of speeches detailing our thanks for the season. In true community fashion, many of the speeches centered on the House itself, and how grateful all in attendance were for the chance to gather together with friends in such a precious community space. The House welcomed Hub members old and new, and while many old friends were sorely missed, the pain of their absence was assuaged somewhat by a crop of speeches from our new staffers, including one rousing speech by Thomson Guster on his role as keeper of the basement, as well as the meaning of the word "assess". All together, the assembled Hub members consumed a truly impressive amount of food and wine, and managed to ring in the holiday in grand style.
