Logan Square

LOGAN CIRCLE: PAST

Pillars and circles,
close to Europe as we can
without going back.

The arcs of the paths
and the fountain streams paint
the park elegant.

Trees benefit from
the fountain mist and give shade:
recursive relief.

There's something austere
in the architectural
build: open, but cold.

The boulevard view
gives the illusion of an
aim, a direction.

LOGAN CIRCLE: PRESENT

Oxidized geese, nymphs,
turtles still urge their arcs in
faux insouciance.

Glimpse William Penn,
balanced on the gold orb of
time, but not frozen.

Smooth glass towers on
one side, stone pillars on the
other, preferred view.

Inescapable
car sounds are drowned out by
the fountain's soft rush.

Orderly rows of
tulips foil the atom cloud
of noisy children.
