Susan Garfinkel writes: i found out today about a moo at the university of florida that will host up to 75 english classes this coming semester. it's called mooville and the address is moo.ucet.ufl.edu 7777, and here's some intro information:

--MOOville is one of the components of University of Florida's Networked Writing Environment. The UF English department and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences developed the NWE through a major grant from IBM's PowerPC division during the summer of 1994. The NWE is delivered to five classrooms of thirty X-terminals linked to a bank of IBM C-10 servers running AIX (IBM's version of the unix opperating system). Through the NWE, students have access to an internet-intensive environment that includes word and image processing, html authoring, a web browser, the moo, email, and a file manager of our own design. If you would like to find out more about the NWE, please refer to our web page at http://www.ucet.ufl.edu/writing/nwe.html

--Writing classes at UF began using MOOville half-way through the Fall '94 semester. Over fifty classes utilize the moo this semester, including basic composition, writing about literature, lit surveys, writing about film, and creative writing.
