The Ibn Sina Writing Internship Fund provides financial support to an undergraduate Penn student or students for completing a writing-related internship or training.
2025 Partner: Cosmic Writers
Writing-education nonprofit Cosmic Writers is seeking two Penn students to work as full-time instructors in summer 2025, teaching creative writing workshops for K–12 children throughout Philadelphia.
These instructors will work across Cosmic Writers’ partner sites, most of which are nonprofits that provide free and low-cost camps for children, to bring creative writing into Philly kids’ summer experiences. In addition, instructors will teach one workshop each in Cosmic Writers’ virtual creative writing camp, Word Camp. Depending on the final program lineup for the summer, the role may also require some travel throughout the greater Philadelphia area, New Jersey, and New York City. Responsibilities will include curriculum preparation, conducted remotely, as well as on-the-ground teaching.
The position will pay $5,000 for a full summer's worth of work, running from mid-June to mid-August (exact dates forthcoming). The stipend is intended to cover the student’s living expenses during the summer. Interns must be a continuing Penn student (class years ’26, ’27, or ’28).
