An iterative technology-infused teaching format has coincided with the creation of a partly-virtual, partly-local community of scholars, teachers, and poets. This paper describes the pedagogy and the community, and explores what might potentially be meant, really, by the term "interactivity," often deemed an inherent feature of poetry on the web (but it's not inherent). Students in face-to-face for-credit courses, members of free non-credit workshops, activists involved in a literary salon or scene, and participants in a series of live interactive webcasts converge and overlap, creating a dynamic, if chaotic, environment for learning poetry.
