Dust

The splashing of my
mucous grandma was
too much for my nose.

Without the typical
Pinch-Warning, my
head flew back, and
I choked for air,

and with one
ultimate vulgar shift

I blew my grandmother

and her only moments of bliss

Into the
cold
winter
air.

Brooke Nelson was born in the early 80s. She lives in Normal, Illinois, where she is pursuing a degree in English. In 7th grade, she won $50 in a talent contest for dancing like Michael Jackson.
