Poem

Residual doubt brushes off
My compelling getaway
Becoming a critical body
Of attention at the last minute

When everything else becomes too raised
Toward the center of eclipse
After convivial gross inflections
Like a paper rejoinder

Do you know any other excuses
Counted in the song
Or moments of water screwed to the lake
Subject to partial underscoring

Where later the reflections peel
Off we are alone & thinking
In escrow under the merely stable
In a terror of love too real
