In 1999 he sent me the ms. of Imaginary Ship, asking me to drop him a line.  I think I acknowledged receiving the ms., read it, made some notes, but unfortunately didn&amp;#39;t get back to him. I intend to read his work again. He&amp;#39;s associated in my mind with other writers such as Taggart, Crase, Pearson--a strong dry, cognitive ratiocination that doesn&amp;#39;t, on its surface, contain much raw emotion.  Perhaps, too, belonging to Ashbery&amp;#39;s Three Poems period.  Some writers just disappear from sight, and never resurface.
