have just been buried. They died on the night of April 21st 1945, a few days before the end of the war, and their remains were only found two years ago thanks to the work of a few amateur Italian historians. Three of them not old enough to buy a beer in the USA. The pilot, David Raikes, was a poet. In 1954 The Poems of David Raikes was published by Fantasy Press: impossible to find now. His poetry was thought worth a mention and a brief quote in the media articles today. I thought at least one should get a full airing.
