The Kelly Writers House on the Penn campus has launched a series called Talking Film. This Thursday, producer Jim Stark will screen the droll and deadpan Icelandic road movie Cold Fever as part of the program, which brings screenwriters and filmmakers from the American indie scene into town. Stark will lead a workshop from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Williams Hall. At 7:30 p.m., he'll video-screen Cold Fever which he co-wrote with Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and produced -- in the David Rittenhouse Labs, Room A7, 209 S. 33d St., followed by a Q&A session.

In November, director Alex Sichel will bring her terrific All Over Me to the Talking Film program. For information: 215-573-9748. The workshop and screening are free and open to the public.

(Stark will present another film with his imprint on it, Christopher Munch's award-winning Color of a Brisk and Leaping Day, Friday at the Neighborhood Film/Video Project at International House, 3701 Chestnut St. It will screen at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Information: 215-895-6542.)
