Rebellion gets shaky as its troops grow weary

In a world just begging to be reasonable

useless bumper stickers plead:

stop poisoning our water

stop erasing our sky

stop pumping out your lies to justify your

sandbox greed

while stealing the right to torture our reactions

I sit in my therapist's office

9:30 on a cold Wednesday morning

trying to figure out how to take myself

more seriously,

keep my heart from eating my spine alive,

and resist the repeated suggestions

that taking meds would make it all OK.
