Andrew Shields praises the Kelly Writers House
Andrew Shields (Gr '95)
Andrew Shields, who received a PhD in Comparative Literature from Penn in 1995, left Philadelphia before the Writers House got underway in the fall of that year. From Germany he discovered the Writers House by way of its web site and has participated from afar. Soon after finding the House on the web, he wrote:
The Writers House is fantastic! The number of events y'all are putting on is incredible. Readings and lectures and music -- and I love the inclusiveness of it: from famous poets to undergraduates, from poetry and theory to jazz and bluegrass. Splendid, Al, splendid -- I want to say some sort of "if only" here, like "if only we'd had that when I was there," but it's just great that it's there now!
