ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

 
While still in high school Soliman Lawrence studied commercial photography for three years at the Lively Technical School. His work has spanned from purely commercial enterprises, including being hired to do the brochure photography for a yacht club in the Bahamas, as well as managing his own commercial portraiture, to developing his own documentary/journalistic and artistic interests and talents, such as an internship at the newspaper the Tallahasse Democrat, as well as the many exhibitions and awards he has received. Since then his work has evolved in a direction that is commercial only in its technical roots and documentary only in his technique for taking photographs. His general interests extend far beyond photography. Currently he is studying philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania.
