From: sgarfink (Susan Garfinkel) Subject: this is worth a visit! To: 88moo Date: Fri, 17 Mar 1995 15:13:56 -0500 (EST) looking around the poetry complex at pmc moo some more, i urge you all to take a look. the address for the moo is hero.village.virginia.edu 7777 at your unix prompt, type "tf hero.village.virginia.edu 7777" or, you can add the address to your .tfrc file (see the getting started at pennmoo memo). you can connect as a guest (type "connect guest" -- it won't prompt you). if you find that you like it, you can get a character almost immediately using the @request command (type help @request when you get there). there are about 2000 characters at pmc moo (stands for post-modern culture, affiliated with the on-line journal). then go to north clark. you can get there with "@go #473" or "@go north clark", or by going north from the welcome mat, west into the coffee shop, and west again to north clark. from there there are two places you should visit, poem-o-rama, and virtual poets' cafe and clam bar. well, three places -- the exhibits in the sandra gering gallery are pretty neat too. there are a lot of poems stored in the poem-o-rama that you can read, and you can get a sense of how they were made in the moo. in the cafe, you hold the plate of clams and type "slam" instead of "say" to make your words part of the poem. there are virtual poetry slams intermittent fridays at 10:30 pm. i don't know how you find out ahead of time whether one will be happening. if it is, mooing poets in new york city will be interacting with poetic (more or less) people in the moo. susan
