Hello, 88'ers:

Good morning. We start today, ready or not!

There are three things for you to do, starting today and moving
through September 16.

1) get used to using and reading mail sent through our listserv
2) introduce yourselves to us all, briefly
3) begin working with the course materials--the introductory "chapter"
        of the course, which is here on your handy dandy 88
        web schedule:

The next three messages I send this morning will deal with each of these 3
points in turn.
