ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Malvina Rousseva, Ph.D., R.A. is a tenured professor and senior researcher in the Department of the Theory and History of Architecture at the Bulgarian Academy of Science. Her expertise lies in the fields of ancient architecture, philosophy and history of culture, Thracian architecture and religion, and Mediterranean archaeology as well as the conservation, preservation and legislation of cultural monuments. She has authored numerous books and articles in both Bulgarian and English.

Liliana Milkova is a Ph.D. candidate in art history at the University of Pennsylvania. She specializes in modern and contemporary Eastern European and Russian art. She is currently writing a dissertation on the underground artistic practices in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s.

Kathryn Waggener, class of 2005, is an art history major, Russian Studies minor at Franklin & Marshall. After graduating from F&M, she will pursue a master of arts degree in art education at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
