Exhibition Guidelines for the Kelly Writers House Art Gallery
|
The Kelly Writers House is an actual
house that features rotating and temporary exhibits in its dining room,
living room, alcove and Arts Cafe. To accommodate exhibiting artists
while
also taking care of the unique gathering and living space that is the
Writers House,
we ask artists to abide by the following exhibition guidelines.
All 2-D work should be hung using picture rail and hooks and wires for hanging. There are also some mantles and other areas where art can be stood. We have some frames available for artists to borrow, and artists can also use clips to use with the wire for pieces that are not framed. Under special circumstances, artists are also allowed to use mildly adhesive double-sided or velcro tape. This method of hanging needs to be approved by the staff of the House before installation begins. In general we do not exhibit 3-D art. Exceptions include our annual spring collaboration with the Pottery Studios at Penn, as well as occasional shows in which artists exhibiting 2-D work include three dimensional pieces at their discretion. |
