Bracketed by long quotations from Toni Morrison and Ted Berrigan, the writers here take on "the aesthetic, political, and religious dimensions of life" --a tall order, and they are sincere rather than ironic. The poetry usually reachs high and sometimes exceeds its grasp, while the prose more often is content to just hand over the story. If they could get together somewhere inbetween...--luigi
