Richard Kostelanetz's achievement as a visual poet, long suspect because of the unevenness of the compositions with which he's flooded every market he could get into, is here displayed condensed to its impressive best--as when the letters "SLE" cross the bottom of, and leave, a page that the letters "EEP" cross the top of, going in the opposite direction, upside-down. Simple-seeming, no doubt, but how could anything be more illuminating about the off-the-page world we sleep into, and weightlessly, loftily, magically, dream back from?--Bob Grumman
