Monsterworld, Vol. 1, no location given (but we’re betting on Colorado Springs, CO), no date given, but sometime after 2010. 8.5x11x1.5” cardboard box filled with numerous ephemera, some of which appear to be one-of-a-kind items, others micropress projects, including chapbooks by Lisa Jarnot, Patrick Durgin, Calhan High School Creative Writing Department, an item from Mary Burger that is laced rather in the mode of tennis shoes, visual work by Mary Chessen, Amy Kassander, Francis King, some uncollated pages of writing with illustrations by Cleo Ngiam that are knockouts, another box that is 3.125x2.25x1” containing poem cards by Chris Vitiello, D Robert Lessig & Kelly Fowler (tho one card chastises Vitiello for failing to show), plus the remnants of a purple feather), a mini-microchap by Jesse Randall of poetry comics – wouldn’t be shocked to discover that different copies of this project have different contents.

NB: When I left my job in the computer industry last December, my intent was to get caught up in my lists of books received as quickly as possible. Events have conspired to make that more difficult than I had envisioned, but that is still the plan. One of the events was a flood in my study caused by a pipe that burst while I was in Rotterdam. While, thanks to my wife & one of my sons, I only lost maybe 150 books out of a total maybe of 10,000 due to water damage – a list that will show up here as well at some point – the whole library is currently stored in cartons while we go through the painstaking process of reconstructing my study and acquiring some additional shelving.
