1989

In the context of the Vth Rencontres Internationales at Royaumont, dedicated to the American Objectivists, Charles Bernstein and Lyn Hejinian were the Bureau's guests. (Also participating were David Bromige, Michael Davidson, Michael Palmer, Carl Rakosi, Stephen Rodefer.) Readings* in Paris (A.R.C.) and Marseille (Le Refuge).

1990

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Norma Cole and Michael Gizzi. Readings* in Paris (A.R.C.), Marseille (Le Refuge) and Saint-Nazaire (Maison des écrivains et des Traducteurs).

John Taggart invited on the publication of the French Poème de la chapelle Rothko. Readings* in Paris (A.R.C.) and Marseille (Le Refuge).

In the context of the VIIth Rencontres Internationales at Royaumont, dedicated to O.blek magazine, Peter Gizzi and Fanny Howe were the Bureau's guests (also participating were Connell Mc Grath, Ray Ragosta, Marjorie Welish). Readings* in Paris (A.R.C.), Dijon (Bibliothèque municipale) and Marseille (Le Refuge).

1991

Ray DiPalma, James Sherry and Cole Swensen invited on the publication of the anthology 49+1 nouveaux poètes américains. Readings (also participating were Robert Kocik and Joseph Simas) in Paris (Fnac Internationale), and the Fnac in Bordeaux, Grenoble, Marseille and Nancy.

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Lyn Hejinian and Leslie Scalapino. Reading* in Paris.

In the context of the VIIIth Rencontres Internationales at Royaumont, dedicated to Burning Deck press, Rosmarie Waldrop, Keith Waldrop and Elizabeth Robinson were invited. Readings* in Paris and Marseille (Le Refuge).

1992

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Tom Raworth and Joseph Simas. Reading* in Paris (Maison des Écrivains).

Ted Pearson invited on the publication of the French Mnémoniques. Readings* in Paris (Église luthérienne Saint-Marcel) and Marseille (Le Refuge).

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Rachel Blau DuPlessis and Cole Swensen. Reading* in Paris (Maison des Écrivains).

Charles Bernstein, Cydney Chadwick, Norma Cole, Stacy Doris, Serge Gavronsky, Peter Gizzi, Michael Palmer, Joseph Simas, Cole Swensen, Elizabeth Willis meet with Bureau collective at the American Center in Paris to take stock of the Bureau's first three years and consider the creation, in the United States, of an American Bureau. Readings in Paris (Maison des Écrivains and Village Voice bookstore).

1993

John Ashbery invited to Bordeaux on the publication of his book Quelqu'un que vous avez déjà vu, P.O.L editions. Reading* at Atelier Bouliac.

Stephen Rodefer reception during the Pour la Poésie event, partially supported by the United States embassy in Paris. Reading in Paris (Centre National des Lettres).

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Laura Moriarty and Benjamin Hollander. Reading* à Paris (Maison des Écrivains).

1994

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont featuring the "3rd Waldrop" (translation of a book co-written by Rosmarie & Keith Waldrop). Reading* at Beaubourg, Paris.

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Norma Cole and Michael Palmer. Further, those two Californian poets co-wrote an "in situ" book (A Library Book) based on the Fondation Royaumont library collection. The following October, an installation made of audio and video recordings of this event by Juliette Valéry was presented at the Diagonales à Royaumont event.

1995

Presentation of Un bureau sur l'Atlantique in Périgueux (Le bel Aujourd'hui, bibliothèque municipale). Readings.

Presentation of Un bureau sur l'Atlantique in Bordeaux (Espace Molière) with readings* by Stacy Doris and Chet Wiener while visiting the École des Beaux-Arts.

In the context of the Atelier Cosmopolite at Royaumont, collective translation seminar with Charles Bernstein.

Reading by Douglas Messerli (writer, director of Sun & Moon press) at the Village Voice bookstore in Paris.

Juliette Valéry, editor of the Format Américain series, visits the USA for six weeks (New York, Providence, San Francisco) to make contacts and gather books and magazines for forthcoming Bureau activities.

1996

Presentation of the Format Américain series in Marseille (C.I.P.M).

Collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Jackson Mac Low. Readings* in Paris (Maison des Écrivains), Bordeaux (Atelier Bouliac), Marseille (C.I.P.M).

At the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, Juliette Valéry facilitates a collective translation workshop on the work of Bill Luoma, corresponding with the author by fax.

1997

In March, Bill Luoma invited on the publication of the French Mon voyage à New York (Format Américain). Readings* à Bordeaux (école des Beaux-Arts, Atelier Bouliac) and Royaumont.

In June, collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Stacy Doris and Chet Wiener. Readings* at Royaumont and Paris (Le Divan bookstore).

1998

In January, collective translation session in Bordeaux (Café des Arts) with Julie Kalendek. Readings* in Bordeaux (Café des Arts), Périgueux (Le bel Aujourd'hui, bibliothèque municipale), Paris (Les Parvis Poétiques, Halle Saint-Pierre).

In February at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, Juliette Valéry facilitates a collective translation workshop on the work of Jena Osman, corresponding with the author by e-mail.

In March, reading by Stacy Doris at Atelier Bouliac on the publication of her book La vie de Chester Steven Wiener écrite par sa femme at P.O.L editions.

In June, collective translation seminar at Royaumont with Jennifer Moxley and Bob Perelman; readings* at Royaumont, Paris and Atelier Bouliac.
